Several years ago, Advent traditions was something I was super interested incorporating into our family Christmas traditions, especially once we had children. Over the past two years, we’ve simplified it some and it has been such a sweet and FUN thing that I wanted to share with all of you.

My Mom bought Eliza Kate, A Star From Afar, for her birthday when she turned one. We’ve used it every year since and the girls love playing with it. This set comes with a book and a Wooden Nativity Kit to explain this fun way to add to your decor or your Advent traditions. Daily, you hide the star and the child (or the person who finds it in our house) moves the Wise Men to be next to the star.

Once the Star is found, we grab the Advent Card (from Crew & Co.) and read the corresponding story from The Jesus Storybook Bible. We’ve gotten pretty creative with hiding the Star and then sometimes we have to put it in our phone notes where it is hidden so the star doesn’t circle back around.

This year, I am also including this FREE resource I found for the girls to color and follow along with.

As you begin this Advent Season, I hope that it is filled with sweet moments that build traditions for your family.
